As a woman in my 50's here is my personal take on working from home.

Pro's

I luckily avoided being a home educator - my children have grown up

I can manage the hot flushes far more easily in my personal environment

I can scream and swear out loud as long as I remember to be on mute

I can have a coffee break on my patio

I can meet my husband for lunch (in the kitchen)

We can make more of our evenings as we don't use up time commuting

I don't have to comply with a clear desk policy

No long commute, late trains, early mornings

I can wear jogging bottoms all day (although make an effort from the waist up)

I can get hold of people quicker - they are all online

I can get a coffee when I feel like it

I am always in for deliveries

I can choose to exercise at different times of day (morning/lunch/tea)

I can set up my office just as I like it

I can water the plants in the greenhouse and do a bit of gardening at lunchtime

I have fresh flowers on my desk

I can blame the internet if I miss a meeting or I am late

I dont have to wear a mask

Only I use my desk - its clean

Cons

The fridge is easily accessible throughout the day - weight gain is a real issue

You need to be disciplined about exercise its easy to become very static

The neighbours obsessive DIY and garden tools can be really annoying

I keep ordering things from amazon because I am always in

No long commute - means no thinking time and reduced movement

The wine beckons me a the end of the day

Its exhausting being online all day

Non working friends assume that because I'm at home I'm not really working

The wi-fi keeps cutting out

I am using a whole room in the house as my office (I'm lucky I have the space)

The wildlife in the garden, especially the pheasant, distracts me

It can be lonely and you miss the interaction with people - no water cooler banter

It's easy to work long hours - tempting to not switch off

The printer is in my office but is used by everyone (and its noisy)

My iphone, iwatch and everything else is connected to teams - I cant escape

My husband keeps turning the heating on he needs a cardigan
